Faith Community Homes is a charitable, nonprofit 501(c)3 organization governed by a volunteer board of directors and staffed by professionals knowledgeable in the areas of poverty, housing and social service.
Low-income families are often faced with spending 50 percent or more of their income on housing. With a guideline that no more than 30 percent of a family’s income should go toward housing, Faith Community Homes attempts to fill the gap for qualified families by paying a portion of housing costs (rent) for two years. Additionally, families receive guidance from trained volunteer mentors who meet with them at least twice monthly for the entire time they are in the program.
Formed in 2003, partners with churches, governmental entities, businesses and individuals to serve and empower low-income, working families in the northwest suburbs of Chicago, including those who reside and/or work in Arlington Heights and Palatine.
We empower parents by teaching solid financial principles and crucial career-advancement and life skills. We focus on building up personal and financial confidence and strength. We equip families to build stable households for happy families.
When everyone works together, beautiful transformations take place. We witness program participants move from underemployment to building successful careers. We see people gain renewed hope. We see people working hard to fulfill their dreams for a brighter future.
